The international energy efficiency competition of the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) - German Energy Agency is this year under the motto "The Makers of Energy Transition ". Private and public companies are invited to submit their projects and concepts by 15 July, which have a special impact on the practical implementation of the energy conversion. The Energy Efficiency Award is endowed with prize money of 30,000 euros and is under the auspices of Brigitte Zypries, Federal Minister of Economics and Energy.
Participation in the Energy Efficiency Award 2017 is free of charge. Interested companies can submit their application quickly and easily online at: www.EnergyEfficiencyAward.de
Energy efficiency projects and concepts are awarded in the following categories:
- Category Energy Transition 2.0 - User-driven efficiency in an integrated energy system
The first phase of the energy turnaround was characterized by the successful expansion of renewable energies. The second phase, on the other hand, is a user-driven energy conversion, which is characterized by the convergence of the sectors of electricity, heat, transport and industry. A large number of actors and available technologies are currently facing the question of how this interplay works under market conditions. Nearly every day, new products, processes and business models are created that lead to an increase in energy efficiency. Show us how you can successfully increase the energy efficiency in your company and at the same time contribute to the success of the energy turnaround.
- Energy Efficiency 4.0 - Smart solutions for established technologies
The digitalization of companies promises a broad automation of production, processes and service offerings. The focus of this category is the convergence of energy efficiency and industry 4.0. The availability of digital data and the possibility to process it is of central importance for increasing energy efficiency. For example, information on energy flows can be used for the efficient optimization of processes and plants, or highly efficient cross-sectional technologies can be integrated optimally. Have you successfully implemented process optimization, cross-sectional technologies or digitization in your company? Then apply in this category.
- Energy Management and Services - Innovative finance and competencies
Machines and plants as well as the energetic processes of a company are examined in order to enable efficiency increasing with a systematic energy management. This can be done by trained staff or by external experts. In particular, the use of non-business competences due to necessary specializations and complex questions has led to a variety of services concerning the increase of energy efficiency. Do you have a successful energy management in your company? You have implemented your efficiency project with the help of public funding? Could you finance or finance the implementation of energy efficiency measures? Are you active in an energy efficiency network and can achieve clear efficiencies? Then apply in this category.
- Public award for energy efficiency concepts - Three concepts pitching, but only one wins the audience prize
For the first time, companies can also apply with their concepts for the public award of the Energy Efficiency Award this year. The energy efficiency concept to be submitted should be a clear indication of how energy efficiency can be boosted and is ready for market. The competition jury evaluates all the concepts received and selects three finalists. These three selected companies are given the opportunity to promote their concepts at the dena congress in a pitch for the favor of the present specialist audience. The voting then decides which concept is awarded with the audience prize.
The nominations for the individual categories will be announced on 30 September 2017. The award ceremony will take place at the dena congress on 20 November 2017 in Berlin.
