The positive effects of stable economic development and low unemployment figures are clearly being seen: German companies are desperately searching for skilled professionals, especially in the fields of engineering and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). There is a particular need for mechanical and automotive engineers, as well as for electrical engineers.

“Make it in Germany” has been set up to help all those interested in living and working in Germany make their new start. The website brings together all important information about working and living in Germany and outlines the sectors in which skilled professionals are being sought. You will find compact tips and advice on the help and support that Germany can offer to applicants from abroad and their families in areas such as job-hunting, applications and relocation to Germany. Skilled professionals can use the quick-check function to see what visa conditions apply to them and who can help with job-hunting. The website is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, and the Federal Employment Agency.
